Privacy Notice for Parents and Guardians
This notice explains how I collect, use and store personal information in connection with the individual singing lessons I provide to your child.
Who I am
I am a self-employed singing teacher, independently contracted by you (the parent or guardian) to provide individual singing lessons. I am not an employee of the Stephen Perse Foundation, and I am the data controller for the personal information described below.
What information I collect
Your child's name, year group and lesson schedule
Your contact details (name, email address and, where provided, telephone number)
Any information you choose to share with me directly regarding your child's learning style, prior musical experience, or educational needs relevant to their lessons
Notes on your child's progress, repertoire and attendance, made in the course of teaching
Why I collect it
I use this information to:
Plan and deliver lessons suited to your child's level and needs
Communicate with you about scheduling, progress and fees
Meet my contractual and administrative obligations, including invoicing
The legal basis for this processing is the contract between us for the provision of lessons, and, where relevant, your consent in sharing additional information about your child.
How your information is shared
As I am contracted directly to you rather than employed by the school, schools do not routinely share pastoral, SEND or other personal information about your child with me. Any such information reaches me only if you choose to share it directly. I do not share your or your child's information with third parties, except where required by law or safeguarding obligations.
How long I keep it
I retain lesson records and contact details for the duration of your child's lessons with me, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet accounting and safeguarding obligations, after which they are securely deleted.
Your rights
You may ask me at any time to see the information I hold about your child, to correct any inaccuracies, or to have it deleted, subject to my legal obligations to retain certain records.
